ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ABAD

ABAD is known as an association of builders and developers in Pakistan. The association was formed in 1972. This organization represents all the builders and developers of Pakistan on a national level. It has the purpose of coordinating and simplifying private-sector construction activities.

ABAD is licensed under the Trade Organizations Ordinance of 2007 and registered under the Companies Ordinance of 1984 with Registration No. KAR No. 4967 of 1977–1978. It is an associate of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

More than 1,200 of the top construction companies in the nation are currently inclined with ABAD. The majority of its members’ offices are outfitted with modern systems for designing, cost management, project management, and the newest civil engineering methods to reduce construction costs.

The association runs democratically, with one chairman from its two regions—the southern and northern regions—electing senior vice chairman, vice chairman, and managing committee members for terms that last the entire year. The Vice Chairman is chosen from Associate Members, the Chairman from Full/Ordinary Members, and one Chairman from each of its two groups.

Objectives of ABAD

  • Exploring the prospects of large-scale projects in the public sector and then acting as a consortium of ABAD members to secure and execute the projects
  • Solving and dealing with the problems of its members and helping them in the execution of their projects
  • Promote the housing projects in Pakistan.
  • Uniting builders and developers for their mutual benefit.
  • Assisting the government in developing its housing policies and plans.
  • Putting forth an active effort to eliminate unethical business practices from the housing and development industry.
  • The research is well organized.
  • Collaborating with ABAD members, the government and other organizations.
  • Program for education and training to advance the science and art of construction.

The development of the National Housing Policy and Sindh Building Control Ordinance benefited greatly from the valuable input provided by ABAD, a group that serves as a representative of the nation’s builders and developers. Additionally, it has been instrumental in securing an increase in the amount that the House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC) contributes to housing loans as well as funding for HBFC in the federal budget.
